Reviews
Al Moro lives up to its reputation! I had the bucatini all’amatriciana, it was fantastic. Roman artichokes were delicious. The goal of al Moro is to make sure every customer leaves happy and satisfied. Everything on the menu is purposed for this goal. The waiters are all amazing characters. It’s quite a dining experience. Reservations are a must and please dress up a little bit. WORTH IT!
Trattoria al Moro is a restaurant in Rome, Italy. We came late night on a Monday, and we were able to grab a table right away. Our table was in a back room, and they had to physically move the table away to let my wife get into her seat. All patrons are basically squished like sardines in a can at this restaurant. Our table was literally touching a side table that was used to serve desserts or grate cheese onto pasta dishes.
[VEGETABLES]
+Tomato and Mozzarella for €20,00 - The cheese felt rubbery and chewy. I have never had a bad caprese salad in my life until I came here. It felt like it was sitting out for a long time. - 2/5
[FIRST DISHES]
+Tagliatelle with Seafood for €30,00 - This pasta was completely overcooked, mushy, and the seafood was extremely fishy. It felt like we would get sick eating this. - 1/5
The service was terrible. I had to pull out the table multiple times to let my wife use the restroom. Our food did not arrive for hours. The entire restaurant was waiting. I have not had one restaurant in all of Italy that did not cook their pasta al dente. This place is understaffed, and I would highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
DO NOT GO HERE. Waited an hour for the pasta and our dishes to be cold. Our Carbonara came out cold and dry. Everything was so salty. The waiter forgot our meal despite us reminding him. Overpriced below average and super touristy. He should have never brought this pasta out we had waited too long to bother sending it back.
Love the atmosphere of this place but it was overpriced for an average tasting food. Ordered a fried plate and there were three pieces, one was not properly plated and i couldn’t even eat it because the paper underneath were attached to it. I was actually shock to see the small portion for 7€ and they weren’t even good. Porcini pasta was quite good though (as it should). Service was attentive and the waiter was friendly for me. However, knowing the reputation of this place, the food and experience were disappointing to me.
One or the best place to enjoy Italian food.. Best of the nest trattorias. The local carbonara ‘’spaghetti al moro’’ start with the incredible mozzarellas… the zabaione with chocolate… Also The service is better impossible 100/100
Very unprofessional and unacceptable. The food was okay, however, as seen in the picture, we had a fly that came from the kitchen. After bringing to their attention, they apologized and suggested to bring a new portion. As it took so long, we decided to cancel it, for which they agreed. However, by the time we asked for the bill, they charged us the Risotto, saying the fly came from outside.
Extremely disappointed and very rude approach.
Situated in the bustling heart of the city, Trattoria al Moro could easily be mistaken for just another tourist centered restaurant. But do not be fooled - this establishment sets itself apart with its top-tier quality and incredibly fresh seafood.
An absolute must try is their spaghetti alle vongole and prawns. These dishes are exceptional, boasting robust flavors and impeccable preparation. Moreover, the restaurant shines in its rendition of Roman classics. The Roman-style artichokes, in particular, are among the best you could find - tender, flavorful, and delightful down to the last leaf.
So, if you're looking to indulge in high-quality Roman cuisine amidst the city's tourist center, Trattoria al Moro is the perfect destination.
Excellent service and original Roman cuisine. This was our favorite restaurant in Rome. We had everything that our camariere recommended. The pasta Al Moro was superb, the carciofi a la romana nothing that you can compare to, la amatricciana…It was my moms birthday, and we even sung “tanti auguri a te” thanks to the staff. Excellent wine and limoncello recommended.
